Ever wanted to know a little bit more about cellular mechanics? Ever wish someone would build a browser-based casual game that would teach you the basics of cell biology while you relaxed and had some fun?
That would be… let’s see… about five of you. The rest of you are missing out. Cell biology is fun!
Gondola 1.1 is simple and attractive enough, though initially I found the gameplay somewhat daunting. Once I picked up the basic ideas, though, I was able to breeze through it, and it became rather a fun little casual game.
The core gameplay of Gondola involves the transportation and sorting of coloured shapes, by placing sorting stations on islands, and running ski-lift-like conveyors between them. You begin with an initial allotment of cash for construction and only receive additional funds when the correct things are delivered to their correct destinations. Actually, that’s more fun than it sounds.
Big Fish Games have several titles available for free download for a limited time. Azada, Hidden Expedition: Everest, Fairway Solitaire, and Spa Mania. All four titles are available for both Windows and Mac. You’ll need to create a free account at Big Fish Games in order to take advantage of the special coupon codes, but it is all fairly smooth sailing other than that.
Azada is a puzzle game, Hidden Expedition: Everest is a hidden object game, Spa Mania is a time-management game, and Fairway Solitaire is a surprisingly well-crafted fusion of a golf-game and a card game which I’ve had my eye on for some time. I’ve linked in some reviews above so you have some idea what you’re getting.
Purchase instructions, links and the coupon codes for getting them gratis are available on Jayisgames. Enjoy.
